Happy Pride Month! Greentown proudly stands with and supports the LGBTQIA2S+ members of our community and the broader climatetech ecosystem. Follow along on our social media as we highlight LGBTQIA2S+ climate leaders and organizations throughout the month!

June has gotten off to a great (and unreasonably hot) start here in Houston! We held an incredible kickoff event for Year 2 of the Carbon to Value Initiative, a multi-year collaboration among The Urban Future Lab (UFL), Greentown Labs, and the Fraunhofer USA TechBridge Program, supported by NYSERDA and in partnership with Cohort Champion Fluor Corporation. Weren’t able to attend? You can watch a recording of the program, including startup finalists’ pitches, here.

And this Thursday, June 16, we have a special Transition On Tap in partnership with The Veterans Advanced Energy Project! The evening will include networking and a panel featuring military veterans who have made the decision to enter the energy transition. We hope to see you there!

Greentown is also delighted to announce the appointment of Barbara J. Burger, Ph.D., former Vice President of Innovation and President of Chevron Technology Ventures, to our board of directors. Barbara has been a steadfast supporter of Greentown—and pivotal in our move to Houston—and we know her presence on the board will prove essential as we continue to grow this climate action community.

Lastly, while exciting things are always going on inside Greentown, we also have an exciting development outside of Greentown! If you happen by our east exterior wall, you will notice a new colorful mural entitled “Powering the Future Through Climatetech,” by the wonderful Hannah Bull. September 29: Low-Carbon Hydrogen Accelerator Final Showcase [hybrid]
Join us to celebrate the culmination of the Low-Carbon Hydrogen Accelerator—the 2022 program in the Greentown Go Energize track—a-first-of-its-kind startup-corporate partnerships accelerator focused on advancing innovations that are key to enabling a low-carbon hydrogen economy in partnership with EPRI, Shell, the City of Houston, and the Urban Future Lab at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
