Greentown Labs members collaborating in the lab
[ 01 ]For Startups

You’re the expert on your technology.

We’re the experts on scaling climatetech and energy startups.

That’s a pretty great combination.

Greentown Labs membership gives climatetech startups the community, resources, and connections they need to grow.

[ 02 ]The Community

A community built for collaboration

Greentown was founded in the spirit of community. Our first four startups worked alongside each other late into the night, sharing equipment, ideas, and encouragement.

Fifteen years and 700+ startups later, members still say the community is their favorite part.

What does it look like in practice?

It looks like helping a fellow member edit a grant proposal, borrowing another startup’s equipment, and sharing investor contacts. It looks like holding a door, striking up a conversation, and swapping ideas with your neighbors. It looks like a vibrant, humming workspace united by a shared mission of creating solutions for the world’s greatest challenges.

[ 03 ]The Ecosystem

The Greentown ecosystem: the world’s largest network of innovation supporters, ready to help you grow

We know that building a climatetech company means navigating a lot of different worlds at once: corporate partners, investors, manufacturers, service providers, technical advisors, fellow founders. Those relationships take years to build on your own. At Greentown, they’re already here, and they’re actively looking for startups like yours to work with.

From the corporate partner hosting office hours down the hall, to the advisor who’s scaled a company just like yours, to the manufacturer ready to help you get to pilot, the Greentown ecosystem exists to connect you with the right people at the right moment.

“The value has changed over the years, because we started as five people in a backyard. At that time, it was about building the network—I really love the networking events. Then later on, it was about getting in touch with corporate partners, like Sumitomo. Lately, it’s been primarily two things: the Investor Program, which has been very helpful, we’ve had a number of our investors come through the Deal Flow Digest.

And then the second thing is hiring—we get a lot of referrals through Greentown, either through Greentown’s website or people tell me, ‘Oh, I heard about you at Greentown Labs.’ That’s really helpful for me. Finding people who want to work in climatetech can be tricky, and Greentown has a really great ecosystem around it.”
