Greentown Labs began when four MIT-affiliated startups shared warehouse space on Cambridge's Charles Street in 2011. What started as a hodgepodge of nomads trading technical tips became something much bigger.

2011

Four startups share warehouse space on Cambridge's Charles Street. Co-founder Sam White realizes 'something special was going on' when Jason Hanna from Coincident spends time helping Promethean Power Systems with a grant proposal.

2013

Greentown moves to Boston's Fort Point neighborhood, dubbed the 'Innovation District,' expanding capacity for more startups.

2017

Greentown opens its 100,000 sq ft campus in Somerville's Union Square, becoming the largest climatetech incubator in North America.

Greentown Houston opens in the Ion Innovation District, a 30,000 sq ft facility marking the first expansion outside Massachusetts.
