Earth Week is extra special here at Greentown, as we opened Greentown Houston on Earth Day 2021. To celebrate this milestone, we’re inviting you to an anniversary Transition On Tap!

The April 29 event will feature startup perspectives on developing and scaling climatetech in Houston. Join us to hear from longtime members Ian Bishop, founder and president of Elemental Advanced Materials, and Dr. Tara Karimi, co-founder and chief science & sustainability officer of Cemvita! We’re excited to have Greentown's CEO Georgina Campbell Flatter and Jane Stricker—a Greentown board member and the Houston Energy Transition Initiative’s senior VP, energy transition & executive director—provide remarks.

This Transition On Tap will also offer the opportunity to network with key leaders from throughout the region’s energy-transition ecosystem. We hope to see you there!

Dandelion Energy will integrate its geothermal systems into over 1,500 homes built by Lennar Corporation in Colorado, in one of the United States's largest residential geothermal deployments.
Elementium Materials announced a collaboration with NEO Battery Materials to apply its advanced electrolytes to NEO’s platform.
American Battery Technology Company doubled its quarterly production of recycled battery materials at its commercial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility and completed another lithium-drill program.
Mars Materials shipped its first customer-spec sample of sustainable acrylonitrile from its pilot plant.
Greentown alum Fervo Energy signed a 15-year power purchase agreement for 31 MW of 24/7 carbon-free geothermal power with Greentown partner Shell.

Startup Spotlights

Inductive Robotics delivers charging to cars that are sitting in parking lots, eliminating the need to demarcate specific parking spots with EV chargers. Its tech can be inexpensively deployed in a matter of days, without costly infrastructure installments.

Phoenix Tailings is pioneering the sustainable production of rare-earth metals that’s waste-free, net-zero, and cost-competitive with current methods.

Return to Vendor is developing an enhanced nylon—made from littered fishing nets—that can mimic the properties of other textiles, including stretch and wicking.

Revterra’s kinetic stabilizer offers many benefits for energy storage, from its long lifespan, to its full recyclability, to its high capacity. But the most game-changing feature? It plays nicely with the grid.
